Student who has re-sit examination(s) should not apply for deferment in that academic semester unless he/she choose not to take the re-sit examination(s). He/She will have to repeat the course(s) and pay all fees as due should he/she choose to take the same course(s) again in future.
Student is only allowed to defer for ONEsemester. Each deferment application, if approved, will be for a period of one semester for the current semester. He/She is expected to resume his/her studies in the following semester. For example, if student applies to defer in July 2020 semester, he/she is expected to resume his/her studies in January 2021.
Maximum TWO consecutive semesters are allowed for exceptional circumstances such as serious illness. For such application, student is required to submit relevant document to support his/her deferment application via e-mail to students@suss.edu.sg.
Student who has made the course fees payment is not allowed to apply for deferment.
Students from General Studies Programme need not apply for deferment.
A non-refundable application fee of S$64.20 (inclusive of 7% GST) for one semester is payable to 'Singapore University of Social Sciences'.
Approval for deferment application will be given at the sole discretion of SUSS and the decision made will be final.
